Today was indeed a very special day as ndi Ukpor turned out in huge numbers to mark this massively significant ceremony In the cultural calendar of our beloved home town.
In preparation for the Iri ji festival in a couple of days, the ahia okika event is used to garner consensus amongst all the people and to offer prayers for the progress of the community as well as individual members home and abroad.
Ahia Okika is usually held on the same day as the major market day of the town. In the case of Ukpor this is the great Afor market.
Enjoy the following sights and sounds from a very colourful Ahia okika 2019.
Let’s do it again on Saturday 14th September at Obi Ùkwù- traditional seat of Eze.
